Losing by degree (2020)

Odh Gohri (2020)

Witch hunting, a myth, is an old practice continuing to control women’s agency. Odh Gohri is a manifestation of how superstitions can engulf people and make both love and family fragile concepts.

But the whole family has time to overwhelm with wealth for two days and realizes that it is not enough just to have money for a happy life, but it is necessary to live and work honestly.

Synopsis: In the smallest country of mainland Africa, The Gambia, fish is now being powdered up by Chinese corporations and exported to Europe and China to feed animals in industrial farming. As a result, Gambians are being deprived of their primary source of protein and overfishing is depleting marine ecosystems. The film follows Abou, Mariama and Paul, three Gambians who share intimate stories of daily struggle, anger, hope and longing for their loved ones in the midst of difficult migration routes. The first film on Gambia’s fishmeal factories, offering a unique insight into untold drivers of migration and the role played by women in new economic systems.

The Toymaker Hidden Heirloom (2020)

Synopsis: Sabahattin Parlar, an electrical master in his 90s in Istanbul, in the 1930s, has old Ottoman figures made of electrical cables in his house on the island of Avşa. The life of his teacher, who discovered his interest in painting at a young age, was working in the electrical business for a long time due to the difficulties of his life in the primary school and the difficulties of his life that led him to art. However, his love of art and child-minded naivety, which have remained for years, start him.

Second Seed (2019)

Synopsis: Second Seed is a dance horror film responding to D.W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation.  Griffith’s film is a veneration of the KKK, painting the Klan as saviors of a white race in danger as American culture and politics begin to shift after the American Civil War. It highlights a fundamental White supremacist delusion that continues to plague this country:  that White people are inherently superior, and that they are politically and culturally under attack.  Second Seed grapples with this White delusion.
